Drayton Valley RCMP weekly brief August 16-23

Drayton Valley RCMP say on August 17 at 12:00 p.m. at Scotty’s ESSO a report came in of a female stealing sandwiches from the store. She was told to leave and went behind the building where she pulled out a pocket knife and waved it at the security camera.

At 2:39 p.m. on 44 Avenue a report came in of someone flying a drone over residences in the area.  A second complaint was received at 5:26 p.m. Members attended and seized the drones, however complainants are required to attend the detachment to provide statements.


On August 18 at 3:18 p.m. at Independent Grocery a report was received of a male and female came into the store and were putting items into bags, they then walked out and got into a silver dodge truck. Suspects identified.


On August 19 at 12:52 a.m. at the Derrick Lounge an assault was reporter after a fight between a male and female. Female intoxicated and punched male in the face.


On August 20 at 12:57 p.m. on 43 Street a report came in of a theft of two RV batteries from holiday trailer. 

At 2:09 p.m. at the Drayton Valley landfill a report of a theft of two batteries and solar panel that were near the fuel tank. Gates were locked. 

At 2:15 p.m. in Drayton Valley members received a report of an intoxicated male in a stolen vehicle. Members subsequently located the vehicle. Male was extremely intoxicated and could not maintain their lane. Swerving all over the road.  Vehicle ended up in ditch north of Tomahawk. Driver was transported by ground ambulance with nonlife threatening injuries. Charges pending.

At 9:48 p.m. in Brazeau County a complainant reported being punched in the face. Suspect located and arrested for assault as well as outstanding warrant.


On August 22 at 7:00 a.m. at the Lakeview Inn a report came in of a black 2013 Toyota Tacoma being stolen from the parking lot. Glass on the ground. 

At 2:13 p.m. at Wal-Mart a report of a male and female entered Wal-Mart and stole several items. They left in a 4 door Ford half ton, red on top and beige on the bottom. Has a red tidy tank in the back and a fifth wheel hitch. 

At 2:15 p.m. at Wal-Mart a report of two males entering the store and stole a speaker from a shelf in the electronics department. Suspects left in a Red Dodge Dart.
