Drayton Valley Thunder acquire two new players

The Drayton Valley Thunder have acquired two forwards as preseason play draws closer. 

The team has snagged Braydon Iwashuk from the Northern Alberta X-Treme Prep.

The 16-year-old Spruce Grove native played 29 games with Prep, netting six goals and 11 assists. 

Iwashuk had also played six games with the Thunder during the 2017-18 season.

The team also signed Jakin Smallwood from the Leduc Oil Kings Midget AAA Team.

The 17-year-old Leduc native played two seasons and 63 games with the Leduc Oil Kings, registering 65 points.

The Thunder’s preseason starts on August 29 when they face off against the Camrose Kodiaks.
