PONOKA- Town of Ponoka employees who are members of the Alberta Union of Provincial Employees (AUPE) have voted in favour of a new contract with the Town.

The Town reached out to AUPE last month to make arrangements to resume negotiations following a strike vote in June by Town employees who are members of AUPE.

“We are pleased that we were able to come to an agreement that is acceptable to both parties. This is definitely good news,” says Ponoka Mayor Rick Bonnett.

The agreement will now be formally prepared and signed by all parties.
