Rocky RCMP Weekly Report: July 12 to 18

On July 12 at 5:24 p.m., police responded to a fight at the Rocky Mountain House Hospital. Officers located one man at the hospital with minor injuries, who did not want to have charges laid. Officers patrolled the area and located another man who was arrested for outstanding warrants and causing a disturbance.

On July 13 at 11:35 a.m., police responded to a report that a cow had been shot and wounded. The owner of the cow had gone away, and when they returned, a neighbour told them the cow had shown up on their property with a large calibre gunshot wound. The cow had to be put down, and police are investigating.

On July 13 at 11:16 p.m., a couple was returning home when they noticed an unknown male in the alley behind their home. When approached, the man said he was waiting for someone and followed by tossing a backpack, bag and fishing rod and took off running. While that was happening, a female drove up in a sedan. When asked what she was doing, the woman told the couple that she was meeting someone, she then sped off when approached with more questions. Police searched the area, but were unable to locate anyone of interest.

On July 14 at 10:34 a.m., police were called to the Rocky Mountain House Hospital to investigate a report of a female driver hitting three vehicles as she was attempting to leave the parking lot. The driver was issued violation tickets for having no drivers licence, no insurance, and careless driving.

On July 16 at 8:16 a.m., a snowmobile and two jerry cans of fuel were taken from a property in Rocky Mountain House while the owner was away on vacation. Police are currently investigating.

On July 16 at 11:39 a.m., police responded to a report of suspicious persons in Clearwater County and located a stolen vehicle in a driveway. Police approached the residence and called for those in the house to come out. A man and a woman came out of the house and were arrested for break and enter and possession of stolen property.

On July 17 at 11:43 p.m., police responded to a report of a break and enter at a business compound. A person was seen using a flashlight through a shop window, and then wandering through the yard. Police attended, but were not able to locate the intruder. There was no reports of anything stolen.

On July 18 at 10:12 a.m., a bull got out of his pen and went for a stroll along Highway 11 by Taimi poad. An officer was in the area, but was unable to locate the bull.

On July 18 at 8:48 p.m., a white Dodge Ram pickup truck was reported stolen. The thieves arrived in a dark vehicle, one jumped out and got into the truck and took off. The truck was located later in the day along with the dark vehicle. Officers were able to perform a traffic stop, and one person was arrested for possession of stolen property.
