Road closures downtown for paving prep

Road closures will be in effect starting this weekend in downtown Red Deer.

The intersection of 49 Avenue and 49 Street will be disrupted while crews work to remove and replace catch basins and a manhole in preparation for crown paving on Sunday and Monday.

Traffic on 49 Avenue will be detoured to 48 Avenue at 49 Street during the following times:

1) Sunday, July 22 from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

2) Monday, July 23 from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Repaving on 49 Avenue is slated to happen in August between 43 Street and 55 Street as part of The City’s Pavement Rehabilitation program.

This construction is weather dependent.
