Jul 20, 2018 | 7:17 AM

CALGARY- The Canada Border Services Agency and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police have arrested and charged an Airdrie man with allegedly importing unlawful weapons into Canada.

CBSA officers from the Calgary Commercial team intercepted a parcel from Hong Kong that was declared as flashlights on July 10.

The parcel was examined, and officers found six conducted energy weapons inside the package.

Conducted energy weapons, similar to a Taser, are prohibited in Canada.

The information was passed along to RCMP.

On July 12, the Airdrie RCMP Crime Reduction Unit executed a general warrant, arresting one man.

RCMP also executed a search warrant at a rural property in Rocky View County, where further weapons and evidence were seized.

Jeffrey Gordon Bussey, 38, has been charged with seven counts under the Criminal Code of Canada, and is scheduled to appear in Airdrie Provincial Court on August 16.

The CBSA says the investigation is ongoing.
