Ten people rescued from sinking boat on Ghost Lake

COCHRANE- RCMP say a person who helped them in responding to a sinking boat on Ghost Lake west of Calgary got rescuers to the scene quickly to pull ten people to shore.

Police say the Good Samaritan was at the dock when they arrived on Saturday night, and took them out on the water to locate the sinking boat.

There were ten people between the ages of one and 53 who had been aboard the boat and were now in the water.

A 15-year-old girl who was unresponsive was successfully revived by a Mountie who administered chest compressions.

All the boaters were taken ashore, where they were seen to by the appropriate emergency services departments.

Cochrane RCMP are thanking the good Samaritan for the assistance and for the use of their boat. 

Without the assistance, the RCMP members would not have reached those in distress as fast as they had.
