Drayton Valley RCMP weekly brief July 5-12

THEFTS FROM LEASE SITES 

Drayton Valley RCMP say on July 5 at 10:52 a.m. in Brazeau County Obsidian Energy reported the theft of a solar panel, battery and approximately 8 feet of ground cable from lease site.  

At 4:00 p.m. in Brazeau County Cenovus Energy reported the theft of ground cable and 4 batteries from lease site.

MAIL BOXES BROKEN INTO

On July 6 at 6:28 a.m. in Brazeau County a report came in of the community mail boxes at this location broken into sometime overnight.  Mail scattered over the ground.  Canada post advised.

At 8:30 a.m. in Brazeau County ARC resources reports theft of copper wire overnight from lease site.

At 10:05 a.m. on Range Road 52 in Drayton Valley a report came in of a break and enter the night before. Chains Swings, hitches are missing.  The lock was cut off the building.  

REPORT OF ASSAULT, SHEDS BROKEN INTO AT SCHOOL 

On July 8 at 2:29 a.m. at the Derrick Lounge two reports were received of an assault between males.  All intoxicated. Members arrived and located victim who was bleeding from nose.  

At 8:09 a.m. at Aurora Elementary School a call came in of a break and enter to two sheds behind the school.  Leaf blower and snow blower stolen.

LEASE SITE BROKEN INTO, MAN ARRESTED 

On July 9 at 9:14 a.m. on 48 Avenue a report came in of a break and enter to a garage.  Stolen items include a boat motor, box of stereo parts and tools.  

At 11:18 a.m. on 47 Street a call came in of the theft of a tool bag with tools and gas monitor.  

At 12:07 p.m. in Lodgepole a report came in of damage to equipment while parked at lease site.  Processor was used to smash trees and hit the tigercat Buncher. Three fire extinguishers taken.

At 2:30 p.m. near Lodgepole Obsidian Energy reported the theft of copper wire. Cables for the Catadyne heater mounted on the outside of the building was cut and removed.  

At 3:12 p.m. at Canadian Tire a report came in of someone stealing some drills. Suspect chased to service plus where police arrested 33 Ryan Haukedal on outstanding warrant from Stony Plain. Further charges pending.

SCHOOLS VANDALIZED, SHEDS BROKEN INTO

On July 10 at 7:47 a.m. at Holy Trinity Academy a report of vandalism to front of school.  Light standard kicked over description of suspect vehicle and suspect provided.

At 2:21 p.m. at HW PICKUP a report came in of a break and enter to sheds at school. An axe was left behind.

MINOR INJURES AFTER CYCLIST STRUCK

On July 11 at 11:04 a.m. a complainant reported that they received a phone call from someone who identified them as being from the TD Bank.  Information was provided which allowed the person to gain access to their computer.  Complainant called the bank who advised them to contact the police.  

At 12:29 p.m. on 49 Street a report came in of an accident between a minivan and a person on a bicycle at a cross walk.  No serious injuries.  Members attended Violation ticket issued for failing to proceed when safe.

At 2:35 p.m. on Highway 22 in Brazeau County a report came in of two vehicles in opposite directions on Hwy 22 clipped each other.  Members attended, violation ticket issued for driving left of center.
