Body of missing 2 y/o boy found in Peace River

Jul 12, 2018 | 11:51 AM

RCMP say a body discovered on the Peace River is that of a two-year-old boy who went missing near the Canfor Bridge last Friday.

Earlier today, Peace River RCMP were called to a bridge that was under repair on the Peace River off 94 Street in the Town of Peace River.  The body was found approximately 220 kilometres away from where the boy was last seen.

Since last Friday, the search efforts have consisted of a number of agencies from the region and surrounding area, RCMP boats and a dive team, STARS helicopter, a private aircraft and volunteers helped for countless hours trying to find the little boy.

“The body has been tentatively identified and it is believed to be that of the missing child,” RCMP say in a release. “Our thoughts continue to be with the family.”
