Bantam AAA Braves win 4 of 5 after Kamloops tournament rainout

The Red Deer Bantam AAA Bantam Braves spent the Canada Day long weekend in Kamloops at the Sussex All Star tournament.

Red Deer finished second in their pool following the round robin games with a 2-1-1 record. Unfortunately, the Braves had to return home before playing the semi-final game due to a full rainout and cancellation of the remainder of the tournament. 

Since returning home after the Canada Day weekend, they have played five league games, winning four of them.

On Thursday, the Braves fell 6-5 to the Okotoks Dawgs. Saturday, Red Deer defeated Camrose 3-2 and 10-5 in double header action.

Sunday, Red Deer beat St. Albert 9-6 and 2-1.

Next up for the Braves is a game Thursday night in Edmonton versus the South Jasper Place Jays.

They’ll be in Sherwood Park this weekend for games against the A’s and Ft. McMurray.

Their next home game at Great Chief Park will be July 18 vs. Calgary Cubs Blue.
