Severe Thunderstorm Watch for Red Deer and area

Environment Canada has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for the City of Red Deer and surrounding area.

Meteorologists say conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms that may be capable of producing strong wind gusts and large hail.

Thunderstorms are forecast to develop this afternoon that will track to the east and are likely to persist into the evening.

The severe thunderstorm watch is in effect for:
