Lacombe County residents have a pair of opportunities this month to offer input on the municipal rules and regulations regarding cannabis legalization.

In partnership with Alberta Health Services, Bentley and Mirror will each host a ‘Cannabis in Your Community’ public meeting aimed at encouraging open and respectful community dialogues around cannabis legalization in Lacombe County.

Officials say it’s hoped participants will leave with an increased understanding of federal and provincial legislation related to cannabis legalization and also have the chance to offer their thoughts on what municipal rules and regulations should be.

Specifically those pertaining to cannabis retail, production, manufacturing and distribution facilities, in addition to public consumption in Lacombe County.

The Cannabis in Your Community public meetings take place on Tuesday, July 17 from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. at the Bentley Community Hall and on Wednesday, July 18 from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. at the Mirror Hall.

Those interested in attending however are asked to RSVP to the County’s Planning and Development department by Tuesday, July 10.
