Building permit values lower in June but year-to-date numbers higher

Red Deer building permit values came in lower last month when compared to the same month last year.

That according to the latest stats released by the City of Red Deer on Thursday which shows $7.3 million in building permits issued in June, down from $10.2 million in 2017.

However, year-to-date figures reveal 2018 is still outpacing last year with $98.6 million in building permits issued so far, up from $59.3 million issued in the first six months of 2017.

City officials say notable permits issued in June include $1.7 million to build an 8-unit Children’s Assisted Living complex on Timothy Drive and a $1 million permit issued for new office space with roof top units on Burnt Park Drive.
