Rocky RCMP Weekly Report: June 21 to 24

Rocky Mountain House RCMP are sharing a number of calls they responded to over the last week, including one where two people were sent to hospital.

On June 21 just before noon, there was a theft of a 2014 Kawasaki KX250 with Alberta license plate JSB85. It was stolen from a residence in Clearwater County.

On June 22 at 6:45 a.m., a red 2003 Dodge Ram was stolen from a residence on Township Road 36-2, near Range Road 60-0 in Clearwater County. It was recovered next day near Strubel Lake.

On June 22 at 9:50 a.m., police responded to a theft from the village of Caroline where a case of “Common Tools” were stolen from the old country yard. The locks to the lagoon pump station were also broken. The incident occurred about two hours before the current employee left the location. That file is under investigation.

On June 22 just after 10:00 a.m., police received a report of stolen cheques, bank cards and credit cards being used fraudulently in Calgary. They were stolen from a residence in Clearwater County. That incident is also under investigation.

One June 22 at 12:40 p.m., there was a vehicle fire on Township Road 37-0 and Highway 761 in Clearwater County. The local fire department attended, and are investigating.

On June 23 at 2:45 p.m., a red Massey Ferguson 1660 tractor was stolen from a residence near Strubel Lake in Clearwater County. A seven-foot cultivator was attached.

On June 23 at 6:40 p.m., police responded to a theft of a black and yellow 2012 Can-Am Commander 1000. It was stolen from the back of a trailer which the complainant had left behind near Horburg due to a flat tire. When he came back about 30 minutes later, the unit was stolen.

On June 23 at midnight, police received a 911 call of a single vehicle rollover on O’Chiese First Nation. Three passengers were ejected from the vehicle. EMS transported two adult males to the Rocky Mountain House hospital and another male was transported via STARS to an Edmonton hospital. The adult male driver was charged with careless driving.

On June 24 at 1:50 a.m., police received a report of a male smashing a residence on Sunchild First Nation. Police attended but the individual had departed the location, he was later located walking down the road and was subsequently arrested. He also had outstanding warrants for his arrest and was out on conditions.

On June 24 at about 7:20 p.m., police responded to a male subject with no shirt, jumping in front of vehicles on O’Chiese First Nation. They say he was possibly under the influence of alcohol, drugs or both. Another call was received just before 10 p.m. in which the subject told the complainant to get off his road.
