Red Deer’s U19B Rage capture Girls Prairie League Softball Championship

The Aesthetic Solutions U19B Rage Fastball team are the 2018 Girls Prairie League Softball Champions after knocking off the Irma Tigers by a score of 6-1.

Caleigh Meraw had the lone home run in the game. 

The Rage played the Tigers earlier in the day in the first semi-final but could not erase the 7 run deficit thanks to six errors! As a result, they lost their first GPLS game of the season 10-8. 

The Rage then dropped to the “backdoor” side. In a second semi-final they faced the Matrix out of Lacombe. A victory would secure a ticket to the final and it took only 4 innings for a 14-3 win. Abbie Eisenhawer was on the mound and also went 3 for 3 at the plate with 3 RBI’s. Makenzie Langelaar had the only home run contributing 4 RBI’S. 

That set up a rematch with Irma in the final. A much more focused squad this time & the Rage came out on top by a score of 6-1 thanks in part to a timely triple by Taylor Kusk driving in two RBI’s.
