Tees man dead after crash near Clive

A young man is dead and another person injured after a single vehicle rollover near Clive on Saturday.

Blackfalds RCMP say it happened on Highway 12 when an eastbound vehicle left the road, struck a light standard and rolled several times in the south ditch.

Mounties attended the scene along with members from the Lacombe County Fire Department and found the driver ejected from the vehicle.

First aid was attempted on scene but the 19-year-old driver from Tees, Alberta succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased while his male passenger was taken to hospital and treated for minor injuries.

Police say the family of the deceased has been notified with no further updates to be provided.
