OHS investigating Edmonton trench collapse

EDMONTON- Occupational Health and Safety is investiging after an Edmonton construction worker was buried up to his neck after a trench collapsed during a sewer repair.

Five emergency crews were called to an alley to free the man during a rescue that took nearly three hours.

He was taken to hospital by ambulance, he was conscious and speaking.

The worker fell into the trench after the shoring around the hole collapsed, burying him under sand and rubble.
