Tammy Cunnnington wins silver at Para World Series swimming event

LIGNANO SIBBIADORO, ITALY- Tammy Cunnington of Red Deer, won the silver medal in the women’s 50-m breaststroke on Friday to highlight Canadian performances at the fourth stop on the Para swimming World Series circuit.

Patricia Pereira Dos Santos of Brazil took the gold.

Cunnington placed second in a time of one minute and 20.60 seconds.

Angela Procida of Italy was third.

The races on the World Series circuit are multiclass therefore the ranking is based on which swimmer is closest to the world record in their disability category.
