Food Truck Fridays kicks off new season at new location

Today’s kickoff for the 2018 edition of Food Truck Fridays featured a special birthday celebration.

‘Waskasoo’, mascot for the 2019 Canada Winter Games in Red Deer celebrated his birthday with hundreds of Red Deerians who came out to enjoy the sunshine, make a donation to the Red Deer and District Food Bank and savour the many foods and treats available from local vendors.

Food Truck Fridays were previously held along Ross Street near the Cool Beans Coffee Shop but has now moved to its new location at Carnival Cinemas from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. each Friday during the summer season.

2019 Canada Winter Games Host Society Chair Lyn Radford says preparations are moving along well for the big event coming up in February.

She says we can expect some announcements in early June regarding both the upcoming torch relay and sponsor updates.
