City seeking additional input for Budget 2019

May 25, 2018 | 7:22 AM

The City of Red Deer is offering residents and all community groups another opportunity to share their ideas on what the priorities should be for next year’s capital and operating budgets.

Written submissions regarding Budget 2019 are now being accepted until Monday, June 18. Officials say there are no restrictions to length, format or content of the submission but they can be sent in via email or by letter to the City’s Legislative Services department.

It’s hoped the input submitted will ensure The City’s agenda which is shaped by Council’s direction, reflects the community’s needs.

“We talked with several residents at the Budget Open House, have been recording input through the budget online survey and heard from many through the comments of citizens and groups in our community but we want to make sure everyone has had the opportunity to tell us their ideas,” says Craig Curtis, Red Deer City Manager in a press release. “Balancing the needs of Red Deer with the current economic situation remains a strong priority when planning for our community’s prosperous future and working with you, out citizens, is an imperative part of this plan.”
