Caution urged to prevent fires from increased levels of poplar fuzz

An increase in poplar fuzz has local fire officials encouraging Red Deerians to be extra cautious in helping to prevent fires in the community.
Officials say Emergency Services responds to an increased number of fires this time of year due to the large amount of poplar fuzz floating around.
The fuzz is said to be highly combustible and can result in fires moving quickly, making it challenging for firefighters to extinguish.
Precautionary measures include the proper disposal of smoking materials and any other potential ignition sources.
