Lacombe’s Ericson sets Senior Bowl passing record

Jonathan Ericson put on a record setting aerial attack at the Football Alberta Senior Bowl.

The graduating Lacombe Rams quarterback threw for 278 yards and three touchdowns for Team North in a 38-23 loss to Team South on Monday.

Ericson broke the previous Senior Bowl passing record of 226 yards set in 2008.

A strong crowd of 1528 fans turned out for the game at Foote Field in Edmonton. 

Nathan LaVigne from Hunting Hills scored a touchdown for Team North.

Hunting Hills was also represented at the game by receiver Layton Barisenkoff from Hunting Hills, quarterback Brandon Rees and linebacker Kallen Vickery.

Other local players for Team North included defensive back Evan Aldridge from Lindsay Thurber and receiver Matt Darnell from Lacombe.

In Monday’s  6-Man All-Star Game at MEGlobal Athletic Park in Lacombe, Team South beat Team North by a score of 41-22.
