Red Deer property tax deadline June 30

With the deadline to file you income tax passing just a few weeks ago, another tax deadline for Red Deerians is now looming on the horizon.

The deadline to pay property taxes is June 30 which means local property owners can expect to receive their 2018 property tax notices in the mail over the coming days.

Residents are encouraged to pay early to ensure payments are processed on time and to avoid the seven per cent penalty which is applied on July 1 for any unpaid portion of property taxes.

However, those registered in the Tax Installment Plan (TIP) do not have to worry about the deadline as their property taxes are paid in monthly installments. If you would like to sign up for TIP, applications are being accepted until June 15.

Taxpayers who do not receive their tax notice by June 8, are asked to contact the City’s Revenue and Assessment Services department at 403-342-8126.
