A man police describe as a repeat offender for fraudulent credit card use among other charges was arrested by the Rural Crime Reduction Project on Thursday but released on bail soon afterwards.

Oliver Craig, 49, was wanted on two warrants out of Rimbey and known to be active in multiple jurisdictions when he was taken into custody May 17.

The initial investigation began on April 2 when Rimbey Mounties responded to a complaint of credit card fraud at a local business. The investigation identified Oliver Craig and 29-year-old Marcia Gold as suspects. Charges of unauthorized use of a credit card were sworn and arrest warrants issued for both suspects.

On May 9, Rimbey RCMP were notified of another credit card fraud at a different business with Craig once again identified as the suspect. Five more charges were sworn against Craig, including unauthorized use of credit card data.
