Rocky RCMP Weekly Report: May 4th – May 8th

On May 4th at 9:27 a.m. police received a report of an abandoned damaged pickup truck on Sunchild First Nation. The Interior had been burned and the tires were missing. It was concluded the vehicle had been stolen from Drayton Valley.

On May 4th at 11:08 a.m. police received a report from an ATV rider who discovered an abandoned camper trailer in the ditch near Strubel Lake will a snowblower, tools, and computers inside. The matter is currently under investigation.

On May 4th at 10:09 p.m. police say intoxicated females were refusing to leave Rocky Mountain House hospital. Police attended and arrested the individuals. One had a 60 oz. bottle of vodka and had been at a local motel earlier.

On May 6th at 4:30 a.m. Police received a call of a suspicious vehicle running for hours in Rocky Mountain House, with a male slumped over inside. Police attended and observed the subject fall out of the truck onto the ground. The adult male arrested for impaired driving and refused to provide breath samples. The vehicle was towed and charges are pending.

On May 6th at 8:08 a.m. police received a call of an abandoned vehicle on a lease site in Clearwater County. Police attended and concluded the license plate didn’t match the vehicle. A query of the VIN number revealed that the pickup truck had been stolen from Achison, Alberta.

On May 7th at 6:58 p.m. police received a complaint of a robbery at a Rocky Mountain House liquor store. Two adult male suspects fled scene but were located on gravel road, north of town. With the assistance of the RCMP Police Dog Service, they were apprehended after getting their vehicle stuck in a ditch and running into the bush.

On May 8th at 10:01 p.m. Police received a 911 call of a male in dark clothing walking east on Highway 11. Police located the intoxicated individual who was arrested for public intoxication and lodged in cells until sober.
