Rebels hire Flynn, Colville as Assistant Coaches
The Red Deer Rebels have hired Brad Flynn and Ryan Colville as Assistant Coaches.
Flynn is from Moncton, New Brunswick and was the Head Coach/Director of Hockey Operations for the Corpus Christi IceRays of the North American (Junior) Hockey League for the past two seasons. Prior to that, he was an Assistant Coach with the Acadie-Bathurst Titan of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League for one year. For two seasons before his time in Acadie-Bathurst, he was the Assistant General Manager/Associate Coach/Marketing Director for the Swan Valley Stampeders of the Manitoba Junior Hockey League. Flynn graduated from Brock University (St. Catherines, ON) in 2011. His father Dan is currently an Assistant Coach with the Portland Winterhawks.
“I’m extremely excited to become a part of the Red Deer Rebels organization,” says Flynn. “Getting the opportunity to work for Mr. Sutter is a special opportunity and I am very fortunate to do so. As proud as I am to join the organization, my young family is just as excited to join a great community like Red Deer.”
Colville is from Milton, Ontario and was the President/General Manager/Head Coach of the Cincinnati Thunder of the North American 3 (Junior) Hockey League from 2015-17. Before going to Cincinnati, Colville was the Los Angeles Kings Video Coach for five seasons and was part of the Kings 2012 Stanley Cup Championship. He was also Video Coach with the Columbus Blue Jackets for two seasons before going to Los Angeles and is a graduate of Ohio State University in 2008.
