Esks select Green in CFL Draft

You can now call him Tanner Green and Gold.

Local football star Tanner Green’s dream came true Thursday night when he was selected by the Edmonton Eskimos in the fourth round of the 2018 Canadian Football League Draft.

Green played minor and high school football in Lacombe before taking a couple years off to play junior lacrosse.

The 25-year-old played for the Central Alberta Buccaneers before heading east to play university football at Concordia last season.

CFL rookie camps open on May 16 with training camps getting underway May 20.
