Missing 2-day-old Lethbridge area foal found dead

RAYMOND- RCMP are investigating after a two-day-old colt, that was apparently taken by thieves south of Lethbridge, was found dead hours later.

Russ and Bev Kultgen say the foal was with its mother in a corral on their acreage Tuesday night but was gone yesterday morning.

The body of the horse was discovered yesterday afternoon about half a kilometre from their home.

Mounties say there’s no evidence it was killed by animals.

Kultgen, who’s been raising horses for more than seven decades, estimates the foal could have fetched between 800 to one-thousand dollars.
