Meth, carfentanil and LSD seized in Drumheller traffic stop

Two people are facing charges after RCMP seized drugs from a van with stolen license plates during a traffic stop in Drumheller on April 28.

Mounties say the plates were stolen out of Three Hills with the drugs seized from the male driver and female passenger being methamphetamine, carfentanil and LSD.

Richard Patrick Bixby, 40, of Stettler and Nichole Raelene Hatt, 31, of Drumheller have both been charged with three counts of possessing a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking.

Bixby faces an additional charge of possession of stolen property under $5,000 while Hatt has also been charged with possession of a prohibited device (brass knuckles) as well as failing to comply with her probation order.

Police say Bixby has been released on a $1,500 no cash recognizance while Hatt has been released on a $2,500 no cash recognizance.
