SHOPLIFTING, THEFTS

Drayton Valley RCMP say on April 19 at 11 a.m. a report was received of shoplifting at the Great Canadian Liquor Company. A male entered the store and stole a bottle of liquor, and is described as wearing a black hoodie with short dark hair.  Members viewed the video surveillance and recognized the male. Property rep of the store did not wish to pursue charges, however would like to ban from store. 

At 2:38 p.m. on 54th Avenue in Cynthia a report was received of theft of gasoline from vehicles at their property while away. 

At 2:41 p.m. in Brazeau County Obsidian Energy reported someone entered a lease site and stole a battery from a cabinet.  Entry gained by cutting the chain to the cabinet. 

THEFTS, MOTORCYCLE CRASH 

On April 20 at 3:49 a.m. at the Tomahawk General Store a commercial alarm was received from Tomahawk general store.  Members attended, front door had been pried open.  A rack of lighters and some beef jerky stolen. 

At 7:15 a.m. at Serene Apartments a report was received of a theft from a 2014 blue Ford Focus.  Back window broken.  

At 1:53 p.m. on 42 Street a report was received that on April 15th, 2018, someone had entered their parked vehicle and rummaged through the cab of their truck stealing a pocket knife.  On the 17th of April, they observed 3 teenagers attempting to break into the vehicle again.  The complainant found a pair of new Fire Retardant Coveralls from Essential Energy on the ground.  

At 4:24 p.m. on 50 Avenue a report was received that someone broke into their blue town and country van and stole a gps, tv and court documents.  

Just before 4:30 p.m. on Highway 22 a report came in of a single vehicle motorcycle accident.  1 male injured.  Members attended.  Severely injured male was transported to Edmonton hospital.  Initial investigation indicates that the driver of the motorcycle lost control when attempting to pass a semi-truck.

 At 8:07 p.m. at the Drayton Manor a report came in of a 2006 Black F350 being stolen.  Video surveillance reviewed and shows a white Ford F250 4 door dropped off passenger who then stole the truck.  Truck recovered in Whitecourt area. 

THEFTS, ASSAULT WITH WEAPON, PROPERTY FOUND

Police say on April 21 at 7:39 a.m. on 46 Avenue a report came in of a 2005 Black GMC Sierra stolen sometime overnight.  

Just before 11 a.m. on 46 Avenue a report was received that someone had entered an unlocked 2003 Chevrolet Blazer sometime overnight.  Set of keys and sunglasses taken. Around the same time on 48 Avenue a call came in of an entry to a 2006 Blue Nissan Pathfinder through unlocked door.  SIN and Birth Certificate as well as prescription sunglasses taken.  

At 4:44 p.m. in Lodgepole a report came in of a theft of liquor from the Lodgepole store.  3 First Nation Females had entered the store and stole a case of twisted tea and Smirnoff ice.  Suspects got into a blue 4 door truck which took off towards Hwy 753.  Video surveillance obtained. 

 At 5:37 p.m. a report was received of a stabbing in progress at the Econorest.  Members attended and located an individual with a stab wound to their leg.  EMS attended and transported victim to hospital.  Suspect fled and was located shortly after and arrested.  29 year old Aaron ROWAN has been charged with Assault with Weapon.  He is presently remanded in custody.

Just before 9 a.m. on 52 Street a report came in of a sword found in the alley behind the Aspen Motor Inn.  Found by children playing and it was requested that members attend and seize.  Members attended and seized machete.

GAS AND DASH, THEFT, ASSAULT WITH WEAPON 

On April 22 at 1:38 a.m. at the Fas Gas a call came in of theft of gas totaling $55.95.  The suspect vehicle is a Black 4×4.  License plate and surveillance video obtained.  Members conducted patrols, however suspect vehicle not located.

 Just before 7 a.m. on Meier Avenue report of theft of a light bar sometime overnight.  

At 5:50 p.m. on 56 Avenue a report came in of a break and enter to business.  Door was pried open to gain access.  Once inside, a dirt bike and 4 laptops were stolen.    Video surveillance obtained. 

Just after 7:30 p.m. at the Great Canadian Liquor Store a report came in of a male wearing a black hoody with white writing stole a bottle of Malibu.  This is the third occurrence for this person.  Last time he stole a bottle of white owl vodka.  21 year old Dwayne POTTS was arrested on outstanding warrants and several other related charges.

At 10:39 p.m. on 52 Street a report came of a dispute between two individuals which resulted in one of them being hit in the head with a chair. Members attended residence and spoke with complainant.  Suspect had already left.  Still under investigation. 

ASSAULT, THEFTS

On April 23 at 1:11 a.m. at Boston Pizza a report came in of a male getting beat up in the parking lot of Boston Pizza.  Complainant advised that four males involved along with a white Chevrolet truck.  Members attended the location, however were unable to locate anyone or vehicle.  No reports of any injuries at hospital. 

 At 3:39 a.m. on 51 Street a report came in of two suspects stealing light bars from vehicles. Small sporty vehicle involved.  Members patrolled the area and located suspect vehicle.  3 male occupants were arrested.  4 light bars were located in trunk of vehicle.  Complainant did not wish to pursue charges.  Males were released. 

At 9:12 a.m. at Wal Mart a report came in of a male who entered the Wal Mart and stole an ink jet cartridge and a sanding disk then left the store.  Video surveillance obtained.

At 12:51 p.m. on 49 Street a report came in of theft of electricity after a complainant advised that he went into his yard and noticed an extension cord running from his garage to a neighbor’s residence.  Matter is being investigated.

At 4:44 p.m. at Poplar Ridge Trailer Court a report was received of a theft of a wallet containing bank card and birth certificate.  Members obtained statement and a possible suspect.

At 8:42 p.m. at Country Style Trailer Court a call came in of a theft of knives from a shed.  2 males, one wearing orange hoodie and jeans, approximately 6 feet tall, other male shorter wearing a black hoodie.  Possibly in a red jeep.  Members attended location and patrolled area.  Not located.  

THEFT OF TRUCK, DAMAGE TO MAIL BOXES

On April 24 just after 8 a.m. on Meier Avenue a report came in of a theft of a Grey 2017 Dodge Ram, broken glass on ground.  

At 2:30 p.m. on 52 Avenue a report of damage to mail boxes in main lobby of Post Office in Drayton Valley

ABANDONED VEHICLE 

On April 25 at 12:17 p.m. at Foxwood Inn a report of a blue Sonoma truck with no license plate in parking lot.  A lot of damage to vehicle.  Member attended.  Vehicle had been reported stolen in January.  Registered Owner advised of recovery. 

MISCHEIF

On April 26 at 6:38 am at the Drayton Valley Post Office a report of a male breaking into the post office boxes.  Male left carrying other people’s mail.  Suspect wearing a black coat with a grey hoodie.  Member attended, picture obtained.  Matter is still under investigation.
