Man faces charges after stabbing in Drayton Valley

A 29-year-old man has been charged after allegedly stabbing a 57-year-old man at a local motel over the weekend.

Drayton Valley RCMP were called to a stabbing progress at the Econorest on Industrial Road at 5:37 p.m. on April 21.

The suspect fled the scene before Mounties arrived but was apprehended shortly after. EMS transported the victim to the Drayton Valley hospital who suffered a stab wound from a knife to his leg. 

Police say the stabbing occured as a result of an argument that became physical. 

Aaron Rowan, 29, has been charged with assault with a weapon and is currently remanded in custody.
