Blackfalds council dumps dual license plate debate
Blackfalds town council has put the brakes on an idea to have front license plates made mandatory once again on Alberta vehicles.
Council decided this week to scrap the idea after hearing a presentation from administration about the pros and cons.
Mayor Richard Poole, who proposed the idea in March, says council ultimately didn’t believe it would have a chance of being passed by the Alberta Urban Municipalities Association.
“I always support my council. I think council gave it a fair hearing,” he says, noting there weren’t any cons that stood out to him as necessarily concerning.
