Primrose, Smith named RDC Athletes of the Week

Red Deer College Athletics has announced its Boston Pizza Athletes of the Week.

Katie Primrose – Queens Curling

Hometown – Rumsey, AB

Management Certificate (2nd year)   

Katie Primrose, the lead for the RDC Queens Curling team, played a key role in helping her team earn three victories at the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Curling National Championships this past weekend in Leduc.

The Management Certificate student from Rumsey, Alberta had the second highest shooting percentage in her position among female curlers at the national championships.

The second-year student-athlete finished her college career by shooting 70% at the championships, including two games at 84% and 93%. 

 

Jordan Smith – Kings Curling

Hometown – Wimborne, AB 

Bachelor of Education Elementary (3rd year) 

This past weekend, Jordan Smith performed very well at CCAA Curling National Championships.

The Bachelor of Education student was very calm, cool and collected despite the pressure of playing on the national stage.

The third-year student-athlete, who played lead for the Kings, had a strong shooting percentage especially in the final three games when he shot 89%, 91% and 91%.
