Drayton Valley RCMP weekly brief March 22-28

DAMAGE TO MAIL BOXES

Drayton Valley RCMP say on March 22 at 12:53 p.m. mail boxes in Violet Grove were vandalized in front of the Violet Grove Hall. The lock was damaged on one of the parcel compartments and Canada Post have been advised.

COCAINE FOUND ON FLOOR

Police say on March 23 just after 8 p.m. members were called to Wal Mart after drugs were found on the floor. A small baggie of cocaine was seized. 

DAMAGE TO VEHICLES 

On March 24 just before 10 a.m. a report was received of damage to vehicles on the Big West Dodge lot. A 2018 Rebel had holes drilled into its gas tank. 

THEFT OF TRUCK, ARSON 

In the early morning hours of March 25 at 2:43 a.m. on 52 Avenue police were called about the theft of a truck after a 2013 Black GMA Denali was stolen from Last Chance trucking compound. Entry was gained by driving through the gate and surveillance showed two men entering the compound. The vehicle was later recovered by Rocky Mountain House RCMP 

Just after 9 a.m. on 54 Avenue an arson report came in after a male was seen starting a fire behind the new service station.  The male was wearing dark clothing and members located the male shortly after, no damage was caused. 

At 2:30 p.m. on Highway 39 in Brazeau County members were advised of an intoxicated driver. The vehicle was located and the driver was arrested for Impaired Care and Control of Vehicle.  

POSSESSION OF STOLEN PROPERTY

Police say on March 26 at 2:12 p.m. on 50th Street a report received of a stolen Bow and Arrow set on Kijiji.  Item had been stolen in November, members attended a location in Drayton Valley and arrested a male and female for possession of stolen property.  Female has been released, male held for a hearing.   

THEFT OF TOOLS

On the morning of March 27 at 7:40 a.m. a report was received of a theft of tools from a truck on 52 Avenue. Approximately $3,000 worth was taken. 

At 2 p.m. on 51 Avenue at the Royal Canadian Legion a damage to property report was received due to damage to the community pantry located at the Legion. 

A male admitted to accidentally damaging the pantry and no charges will be brought. 

BREAK AND ENTER TO LEASE SITE

On March 28 just after 7 p.m. in Brazeau County a report came in of a break and enter to a Brandette Services lease site.  The locks had been broken and a approximately $5,000 worth of tools were taken.
