RED DEER- The Downtown Business Association is accepting applications from musicians to provide entertainment on their parklet installation.
Parklets are sidewalk extensions located on parking stalls that either expand the sidewalk for increased pedestrian use, or offer additional amenities for people using the street.
The parklet is open to the public and offers bistro tables and chairs for passersby to relax and enjoy the downtown atmosphere.
This year the parklet will be installed in a high-profile downtown location on Fridays between June 15 and August 17.
There will be free musical performances taking place from 11:30 a.m. until 1 p.m.
Musicians interested in being involved are asked to complete the application form and include as much of the following information as possible:
• Artist or group bio
• Audio disk or web link containing samples of current work - please indicate which track(s) you would like reviewed
• Website address
• Social media sites
• Performance schedule
Applications must be received by Tuesday, April 10.
Selected artists will be notified by 4 p.m. on Monday, April 16.
