Consort RCMP arrest five on drug charges

Consort RCMP and Edmonton ALERT say they have arrested and charged five people following a successful initiative targeting drug trafficking.

The operation took place between Feb. 21 and Mar. 9 in the Consort area. In addition to the arrests, various quantities of cocaine, meth and ecstacy were seized.

Kyle John Walker, 30, of Consort, faces two counts of trafficking a controlled substance.

Joshua Thiabult, 39, of Consort faces charges of trafficking a controlled substance, possession of property obtained by crime, and breach of an undertaking.

Niomi Grautefestert, 31, of Coronation was charged with three counts of trafficking a controlled substance, and three counts of possession of property obtained by crime.

They were released from custody and will be appearing in Stettler Provincial Court on Mar. 22. 

Cynthia Anne Sinclair, 37, of Consort was charged with three counts of trafficking a controlled substance, possession of property obtained by crime, and six counts of breach of a recognizance. She was released from custody and will be appearing in Coronation Provincial Court on Apr. 13.

Adrian Harty, 39, of Consort was charged with three counts of trafficking a controlled substance, and three counts of possession of property obtained by crime. He was remanded into custody and will be appearing in Red Deer Provincial Court on Mar. 19.
