Mild hiring climate anticipated for Red Deer region

RED DEER- According to the latest ManpowerGroup Employment Outlook Survey, Red Deer area employers expect a mild hiring climate for the second quarter of 2018.

Survey data reveals that 10 per cent of employers plan to hire for the upcoming April to June quarter while five per cent anticipate cutbacks.

Another 80 per cent of employers plan to maintain their current staffing levels in the upcoming quarter.

The remaining five per cent were unsure of their hiring intentions.

“With seasonal variations removed from the data, Red Deer’s second quarter Net Employment Outlook of eight per cent is a two percentage point decrease when compared to the previous quarterly Outlook,” says Randy Upright, CEO of Manpower’s Alberta Region.
“It is also a decrease of six percentage points compared with the Outlook reported during the same time last year, indicating a conservative hiring pace for the upcoming months.”
