UPDATE: Blackfalds hit and run suspect turns themself in

Blackfalds RCMP say the suspect in a hit and run earlier this month has turned themself in and charges are pending.

The alleged hit and run occurred just after 7 p.m. on March 2 at the intersection of Womacks Road and Leung Road to the southeast of the Abbey Centre. 

A young boy was hit while crossing the street at the crosswalk and sustained minor injuries, according to police. The suspect vehicle then left the scene without providing assistance or details to the injured boy.

The suspect’s name will be released once charges have been sworn before the courts.
