RDC Indoor Track team earns four medals at ACAC Championships

The Red Deer College Indoor Track team wrapped up their season by earning four medals at the ACAC Indoor Track Championships held in Edmonton on Saturday.

RDC Athletics officials say the Kings team won Bronze with a third place finish, while the Queens placed fourth. Overall, the two teams finished third with combined points.

MacEwan University finished second in the Men’s Division while SAIT took first. On the Women’s side, MacEwan University finished first while SAIT placed second and Lethbridge College third.

Elsewhere, the RDC Queens 4 x 400 metre relay team captured Silver, while the Kings 4 x 400 metre relay team finished fourth, less than half a second behind third place finishers Lethbridge College.

Individually, two RDC student athletes picked up medals, Devon Gurney placing third in the Men’s 1,000 m finals with a time of 2:42.01 to earn Bronze and Jordanna Cota who also won Bronze in the Women’s 3,000 m event with a time of 10:44.73.
