Stony Plain/Spruce Grove RCMP operation results in drug trafficking charges

STONY PLAIN- On March 2, RCMP, Edmonton GIS, K Division, and the Central Alberta District Integrated Crime Reduction Unit conducted a joint investigation into the trafficking of stolen vehicles in the Spruce Grove area.

As a result, two suspects were arrested in Edmonton and a stolen 2017 Nissan Titan pickup truck was recovered.

At the time of arrest, the two suspects were in possession of 28 grams of fentanyl, 8 grams of methamphetamine, 87 grams of marijuana, Canadian currency, drug trafficking paraphernalia and a stolen handgun which was loaded.

Winter Alger, 21, of Sylvan Lake and Brady Shivak, 34, of Stony Plain face numerous charges including possession of a stolen firearm, drug possession for the purpose of trafficking and trafficking in property obtained by crime over $5000.
