Steenbergen signs with Coyotes

Tyler Steenbergen has signed a a three-year entry-level contract with the Arizona Coyotes.

The Sylvan Lake native was selected by the Coyotes in the fifth round of last year’s NHL Draft. 

In 51 games this season with the WHL’s Swift Current Broncos, the 20-year-old sniper has 44 goals and 54 assists for 98 points. He has recorded 120 goals and 125 assists for 245 points in 262 career games with Swift Current.

The former Red Deer Optimist Chief also scored the game-winning goal for Canada at the gold medal game at the 2018 World Junior Championship.
