Snowfall Warning issued for Drayton Valley area

Environment Canada has issued a Snowfall Warning for Drayton Valley and the surrounding area.

The warning says, “Heavy snowfall has stalled out over southern Alberta but will continue to move slowly northeast towards the Edmonton region this evening. Snowfall, with total amounts of 10 cm is expected by the time snow tapers off Sunday morning. Easterly winds of 30 gusting to 50 km/h may result in localized blowing snow tonight.”

Affected areas include:

Brazeau Co. near Drayton Valley and Breton
Co. of Wetaskiwin near Alder Flats and Winfield
Co. of Wetaskiwin near Pigeon Lake
Leduc Co. near Calmar and Devon
Leduc Co. near Warburg Thorsby and Pigeon Lake
Ponoka Co. near Crestomere
Ponoka Co. near Rimbey Bluffton and Hoadley
