CALGARY, AB — The provincial government has announced new energy efficiency rebates for industrial businesses.

The government announced rebates specifically for industrial businesses to help them reduce their energy use and greenhouse gas emissions.

“Alberta’s industrial operators create jobs and drive our economy,” said Shannon Phillips, Minister of Environment and Parks in a statement. “By encouraging operators to replace old equipment with new energy-efficient products, we are helping Alberta businesses lower their energy bills, reduce their emissions and reinvest in their business. Together, we are supporting a growing energy-efficiency sector that creates jobs and helps businesses thrive.”

The rebates are available for small to medium sized industrial companies, and can be applied to items such as pump-off controllers for pump jacks, variable frequency drives for combustion air fans, steam trap survey and retrofit and pneumatic to electric instrument conversion.
