Drayton Valley RCMP responded to a call just before 10 a.m. February 15 that someone broke into the fenced yard at Pembina Pipeline Corporation as well as Sea Cans and trailer.  Tools and ratchet straps taken and the suspects cut the locks on the units to gain entry. Later that morning a call came from a Cenovus plant site in Brazeau County that a lock had been cut and suspects entered the site through the back gate on the north side. Members attended and video surveillance was obtained along with fresh footwear impressions. The matter is still under investigation.

During the afternoon of the 15 just after 3:30 p.m. Mounties received a report of a break and enter to a Synopec lease site in Brazeau County. The suspects broke into the locked fenced yard and stole 15 feet of ground wire and left bags of stripped wire.  Members attended and obtained footwear and tire impressions and the matter is still under investigation.

Police received three reports involving stolen vehicles during the morning on February 16. The first occurred around 5:00 a.m. at United Truck and Machine after a white Dodge with "team" stickers on it was stolen after the keys were left inside. The vehicle has not been located.

Later in Brazeau County at 8:40 a.m. Drayton Valley RCMP members were requested to assist Breton RCMP members as they were following a vehicle which had been stolen during an armed robbery earlier on in the morning in the area of Stoney Plain.  The team work of all members involved, from neighbouring detachments which included Rimbey, Rocky Mountain House, Drayton Valley Breton and Thorsby, resulted in the arrest of 1 male and the recovery of the vehicle.

Then at 11:35 a.m. Mounties were called after a truck was stolen from the Fusion Controls yard.  Video surveillance showed a female entering the yard and stealing a white Ford F350.  A UFA card was used for gas purchases in various areas and the vehicle was recovered in Sylvan Lake.

At 9:46 p.m. on 24 Avenue in Drayton Valley an animal call came in after someone was allegedly shooting a dog with a BB gun. Members attended the location and spoke with the subject responsible.  They were advised about the municipal bylaws and possible charges, with the individual apologizing and said they were upset about the barking but would contact animal control in the future.

On February 17 police were contacted after an alarm went off at the Plaza Liquor Store on 50th Street at 4:31 a.m. Members attended and discovered that suspects had gained entry by driving a truck through the front window.  Video surveillance was reviewed, showing four suspects entering the store and stealing multiple bottles of liquor.  Footwear impressions and tire track impressions were taken from the scene.

On February 18 just before 2 p.m. Mounties were advised that a 2007 Dodge Grand Caravan, dark green in colour had been stolen. Members made patrols, however the van was not located.

Just after 6 p.m. at the Three Knights Steak House an assault was reported after a man left the restaurant without paying. The man started arguing with the waitress, then ran out after grabbing the waitress by the arm.  Members attended and located the male who was subsequently arrested and charges are pending.

Police then received a report just before 6:30 p.m. on 44th Avenue of a break and enter and theft from a garage that occurred sometime over the previous three days. Entry was gained through the man door and suspects broke the side window of the truck parked inside the garage, and the ignition of the vehicles was damaged. Approximately $800 worth of meat was stolen from the deep freeze.

On February 19 police conducted a traffic stop on 50th Avenue just before 1:30 a.m. The passenger in the vehicles was wanted on an outstanding warrant and was subsequently arrested. A search in connection to their arrest turned up meth pipes and approximately 4 grams of methamphetamine, and charges are pending.

Later that morning just before 4 a.m. at the Petro Can parking lot on 50th Avenue a member on patrol observed an individual breaking into a coin operated vacuum. Timothy Lenevue, 23, was arrested and charged with theft under $5000, mischief to property and possession of break in instruments.
