Innisfail Mounties arrest pair in stolen truck thanks to call from resident

Feb 20, 2018 | 5:02 AM

A tip from a local resident led to Mounties arresting two people in a stolen vehicle last week near Pine Lake.

It was just before 6 p.m. last Thursday when Innisfail RCMP received a call about a suspicious vehicle stuck in the ditch near the Whispering Pines golf course.

Police responded and confirmed the vehicle as stolen.  Officers then attempted to pull it over, however it did not stop and continued for some distance before hitting a spike belt and crashing into a ditch. The male and female inside the truck were arrested without further incident.

Zachery Holsi-Rombough, 25, of Red Deer and Emma Louise James, 22, of Leduc County have a bail hearing scheduled for Tuesday morning in Red Deer Provincial Court. Each faces several charges including possession of stolen property over (and under) $5,000, possessing a prohibited weapon, and possession of a weapon while prohibited. Holsi-Rombough is also charged with dangerous driving and failing to stop for police.
