Celebrate one year until the 2019 Canada Winter Games

RED DEER- February 15 marks one year out from hosting the biggest event in the history of central Alberta — the 2019 Canada Winter Games.

To mark this milestone, the 2019 Games is hosting a free, public celebration at Bower Ponds on February 15 from 6 until 8 p.m.

Presented by the Co-operators, the One Year Out Celebration will feature a number of interactive sport and cultural activities throughout the evening, free skate rentals and hot chocolate and treats.

The event will be capped off with a fireworks display at 8 p.m.

 A free park and ride will be offered between Sorensen Station and Bower Ponds. Attendees can park for free at the Sorensen Station in downtown Red Deer with complimentary buses leaving to and from Sorensen and Bower Ponds every 15 minutes starting at 5 p.m.

The last bus departs Bower Ponds at 9 p.m.
