École Secondaire Notre Dame High School theatre students are pleased to showcase Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, February 8-10 at the Red Deer Memorial Centre with daily shows at 7:00 p.m. and a 1:00 p.m. matinee on Saturday, February 10.

“Notre Dame's Musical Theatre production provides an avenue for students to share with the community their passion and excitement for performing arts. There are few things more gratifying for students than to see a full room of people who excitedly await to be entertained by the product of months of hard work,” said Director Stephanie Layden, at École Secondaire Notre Dame High School.

"The Musical Theatre program is about fostering and featuring our students’ gifts and talents. Performing for the public instills a unique sense of pride and validation in them. The growth as theatre artists, leaners, and young adults during the process of production is truly astounding.”

Tickets are $20 per person and available at the school office as well as at the door on performance nights.

Disney’s Beauty and the Beast is the classic story of Belle, a young woman in a provincial town, and the Beast who is really a young prince trapped under the spell of an enchantress. If the Beast can learn to love and be loved, his spell will be broken and he will be transformed into his former self. If the Beast does not learn his lesson soon, he and his household will be doomed for all eternity.  (
