Good start to 2018 for Sting ringette teams

The Central Alberta Sting U16 AA squad opened 2018 with a pair of wins over the weekend.

Saturday, they downed the Zone 5 Pack 7-3 in a game played at the River Cree Resort.

Hana Gill and Megan Grubb each scored twice for the Sting while Sydney Schnoor, Tanaya Harty, Carly Cherniak each scored once. Madison Kohut earned the win in net.

On Sunday, the Sting defeated the Spruce Grove Pursuit 8-5 in Penhold.

Cherniak and Julia Dawes each scored a pair of goals for the Sting. Harty, Gill, Shaelynn Law, Ashlin Caine scored once each. Gracie Setters picked up the win in net.

The U16AA Sting travel to Ontario this weekend for the Waterloo Ringette Tournament where they will face some of the top AA teams from that province.


The U19 AA Sting also earned a pair of wins last weekend, beating the Zone 5 Grit 10-6 Saturday in Leduc and the Central Alberta Open B team 12-4 in Red Deer on Sunday.
