Police are investigating after three hotels in Drayton Valley had incidents where quads were stolen from the back of a vehicle or were attempted to be stolen from a vehicle in the hotel parking lots.
Mounties say they received the reports on the morning of December 4, with the first crime occuring during the evening of December 3 at the Service Plus Inn when four males in a white single cab pickup truck stole a red Honda 400 quad from the back of a vehicle.
The second hotel to be hit was the Ramada around midnight. Police say a red Honda quad was attempted to be stolen, with the description of the suspect vehicle differing from the Service Plus Inn theft. Mounties say after reviewing the surveillance footage a two ton midsized pickup truck was used.
Lastly during the early morning hours of the 4th at the Super 8 hotel a Yamaha 450 qaud was stolen while another was attempted to be taken, but was found damaged a few metres away.
Police say the description of the suspects in the case match the ones seen at the Service Plus Inn a few hours earlier. Upon reviewing surveillance footage police say the suspects first attemped to steal the quads around 1:30 a.m. but were unsuccessful, and returned at 3:30 a.m. and made away with the quad.
Anyone with information regarding these incidents are asked to contact Drayton Valley RCMP or call Crime Stoppers.
