Candidates seeking judicial review of last month’s municipal election

Nov 20, 2017 | 1:33 PM

Two candidates who ran in last month’s municipal election have filed a request for a judicial review of the election in the Town of Rocky Mountain House and Clearwater County, citing voter irregularities.

A joint release from the Town and County says the basis for the claim is that electors voted in municipalities outside of their place of residence, and that voters in the Oct. 16 election cast ballots in both the Town and County.

The candidates, one from the Town and one from the County, who applied for the review have not been named.

The Town and County have hired legal representation for the matter. A court date has been scheduled for Dec. 6 in Red Deer Court of Queen’s Bench.
